Light Duty Towing

Light duty vehicle towing is considered any car, truck, or SUV that is up to 10,000 gross vehicle weight. Private Property Towing

We want to be sure your rights as a tenant and property manager are never violated. Our tow company provides private property towing to properties such as homes, apartments, condos, commercial properties, industrial business areas, and parking lots. The vehicle can be immediately towed if it is parked:

  • In a private property / business with out consent or proper permits

  • In a disabled / handicapped parking space.

  • In a way that interferes with an entrance or exit to the property.

  • In a fire lane. 

  • Within fifteen feet of a fire hydrant.

Law Enforcement Tow

If you think your vehicle may have been towed, first make sure it was towed: Call the Police Department Records Division at (510) 238-3021 to confirm that your vehicle has been towed.

If you confirmed your vehicle has been towed, you must go to the Police Department Records to obtain a release for your vehicle. Without a release from the Police Department, the tow company will not release your vehicle. You must go to the Police Department first. Call W2 Towing at (510) 568-8701 to confirm which police department you need to go to. 

Law Enforcement tows are for the following  - Alameda County Sherriff, CHP, and Bart PD

All Law enforcement tows require the following to pick up a vehicle from the tow yard:

  • The registered owner of the vehicle must be present and show proper ID to match the registration of the vehicle.

  • Release from the law enforcement office to bring with you to the tow yard.

  • Pay the fees owed to the tow yard to pick up the vehicle.

Personal Belongings in Vehicles that have been towed:

  • If you cannot pick up your vehicle for any reason – Such as you are having another agency such as Insurance or Financial company collect the vehicle or simply do not want the vehicle any more. You can still come any time during business hours during pick up your belongings.

  • You must follow the same steps as you would to pick up the vehicle as listed above.

  • Release of personal property from the law enforcement office to bring with you to the tow yard.

  • The registered owner of the vehicle must be present and show proper ID to match the registration of the vehicle.

  • Pay any gate fees if after hours. Business hours are from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Excluding National Holidays!

  • You can pay a fee to release the vehicle to the tow yard to avoid going to collections.

  • Liens are implemented after 72 hours of being towed if it is not picked up.

  • You can call to find out when a lien clears.

  • Once a lien clears the vehicle and all items it are property of the tow yard to dispose of.

  • Depending on the disposal of the vehicles value the remaining balance owed will go to the registered owner for collection.

 

PLEASE NOTE WHEN SELLING ANY VEHICLE ALWAYS PROCESS A NOTICE OF RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND KEEP COPIES OF THE TRANSACTION. THIS IS TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM GOING TO COLLECTIONS IF THE NEW OWNER DOESN’T PROCESS THE BILL OF SELL CORRECTLY AND SOMETHING LIKE THIS SHOULD HAPPEN TO THE VEHICLE.
